Africa-Europe Relations at a Crossroads: Towards a Shared future

De Nelson Mandela-lezingen van de Universiteit Gent zijn intussen uitgegroeid tot vaste publieke evenementen in de stad Gent. De lezing van dit jaar zal de vorm aannemen van een panelgesprek, met de Belgische publieke intellectueel David Van Reybrouck, professor in internationale politiek en economische ontwikkeling Adebayo O. Olukoshi, voormalig Namibisch ambassadeur in België Mekondjo Kaapanda-Girnus, en Lieselot Declercq, ondernemer en directeur van d-teach.

Zij zullen actuele uitdagingen bespreken rond geopolitiek, handelsrelaties, cultuur en ondernemerschap in de relatie tussen Afrika en Europa. Het gesprek wordt gemodereerd door journalist John Vandaele.

De avond vindt plaats in het Engels. Na de lezing volgt een netwerkreceptie.

This year's lecture with take the form of a panel discussion, with Belgian public intellectual David Van Reybrouck, professor in international politics and economic development Adebayo O. Olukoshi, former Namibian ambassador to Belgium Mekondjo Kaapanda-Girnus, and Lieselot Declercq, entrepreneur and director of d-teach.

They will discuss contemporary challenges related to geopolitics, trade relations, culture and entrepreneurship in Africa's relationship to Europe. The discussion will be facilitated by journalist John Vandaele (MO*).
